About JWisdom

After the clergymember finished his sermon in the usual half hour, a man came up and shook his hand.

"That was inspirational," the man said.

"Thank you," answered the clergymember.

"So poetic, so meaningful."

"Kind of you to say," said the clergymember.

"Such a shame," continued the man, suddenly frowning.

"A shame?" said the clergymember, confused. "Why a shame?"

"Well, I'm a TV producer, and we run a daily 'Two Minute Devotional.' Your sermon would be perfect, but I don't see how it would fit."

"No problem," said the clergymember, hastily. "I can say the exact same thing in two minutes."

The man gazed intently into the clergymember's eyes.

"So why didn't you?" he asked.

Welcome to JWisdom.com!

Our tagline is “Uplifting Downloads.” It sums the site up perfectly. But the one we almost went with was “Our rabbis know when to stop!”

The original choice wasn’t an attempt to be obnoxious. And certainly not sacrilegious.

Most thinking folks, we believe, want to be inspired and to change. We want to improve. If we only had the ability, we’d even want to do so daily. But reality being what it is, we simply don’t have sufficient time in our hectic lives. Or do we?

We searched for potential teachers and gave them a challenge: Give us quality, uplifting “Godcasts” and do so in 11-minutes or less. (We extended the two-minutes a bit) Most of the folks who responded failed. Those who succeeded, we believe, are well worth giving your limited time.

Our lecturers don’t lecture, they engage. They will speak to you where YOU are, not where somebody thinks you should be. Our instructors will teach you how to be a thoroughly modern, functioning member of society and yet not sacrifice an iota of your allegiance to time-honored values. We will focus on faith and character building and life issues. We will make the Bible come alive as never before.

And we’ll do this and more every weekday.

There’s a tendency in contemporary society to compartmentalize our lives. We do it with business (“Business is Business”.) We do it with seasons (“Be good, it’s the High Holidays”/ “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.”) But it need not be that way. It must not be that way.

To become a better person, growth must be constant. If you don’t move forward, you, inevitably, are moving backward.

Now that you have found JWISDOM.com, enjoy our offerings --- and become a better, more enlightened and substantive person. Feel free to post our “Godcasts” on your sites, blogs and in libraries.

More importantly, feel free to challenge our instructors via the online forms. You may well prove us wrong. And that would make us better, more enlightened and substantive people.
